We are beyond proud to announce the recent launch of our BRAND NEW event space on St. Clair West – The Boardroom Theatre & Lounge. Located in historic Corso Italia at 1350 St. Clair Ave W, this cozy space features eclectic decor, in-house event planning and the unique ability to host cannabis consumption events – truly one of a kind in the city of Toronto. Our beautiful space launched for the first time to the public on the eve of our Love Buds Valentine’s Comedy Special – an in-house comedy show featuring lots of local talent!
Here at CAFE, we are deeply familiar with Toronto’s comedy scene through our brand Smokes & Jokes – a resident show at Toronto’s famed Comedy Bar for years. CAFE is proud to work with some of the city’s best talent, and humbled to say that our shows were so popular that they sold out all the time. Many of our comedians are also huge fans of cannabis, and love to make jokes about their favourite herb that land especially well with our cannabis-loving audience. We are excited to welcome these comedians to our new stage at The Boardroom Theatre.
We are absolutely humbled to report that Love Buds fully sold out two back to back shows for Valentine’s Day! As we were finishing setting up for the show and glanced outside, we saw a lively crowd begin to gather, ready and excited for a one of a kind experience in Toronto. We opened the doors and guests streamed in to find their seats.
The night featured a lineup of comedians, most of whom are local to Toronto and perform regularly at our shows. We were pleased to welcome back Ronen, Ryan Hillis, Peter Saran, Sandra Battaglini, James Hammond and our show headliner – Patrick Hakeem!
We find it funny how many of our comedians love to tell jokes that involve cannabis. Of course, many of them are big fans of our favourite flowers, and even shop with us at CAFE. Our comedy shows are often full of hilarious stories of our comedians getting a little too high and then acting dazed and confused as a result!
The night was a truly fun one, and guests enjoyed the comedic performances. The Boardroom Theatre is a cannabis consumption lounge, and guests were allowed to bring their own cannabis products to consume throughout the show. We also offered a menu featuring light snacks such as popcorn, cookies and candy as well as pop, water and juice to keep guests refreshed.
