And with our recent venture into the consumption scene via our Boardrooms, CAFE has now fully taken a seat at the heart of everything cannabis in the city of Toronto.
The Boardroom is a unique concept in Toronto, and truly one of a kind. Guests are able to freely consume their favourite cannabis flowers in any form – joints, blunts, bongs, vapes or edibles. Our state-of-the-art air filtration system ensures negative air pressure and constant cycling of air every 90 seconds to ensure a clean smoking space and ultimate comfort for our guests. Each Boardroom has its own unique vibe, featuring eclectic décor, fun art and neon installations and arcade and board games. Each Boardroom also features big screen TVs for streaming live events, movies or playing videogames. Our Boardrooms are available for guests to walk into at any time during business hours, or can be reserved ahead of time for private events.
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming HeadyDab Supply Co for their Winter Expo! This lovely team traveled all the way from Quebec in order to host their event at a weed-friendly consumption space. The Winter Expo featured various vendors who set up booths, showcasing their products, offering samples and enjoying the vibes of a full-on weed market! Guests streamed in throughout the evening, having purchased tickets online, and some even just walked in as they passed by on Fort York Blvd. We are proud to have welcomed brands such as High Society Supper Club, Balcony Cannabis, Doberman Glass, Bong Baba, Purple Hills Cannabis, McLardy’s Confectionery and Steve Stacey, author of the novel Death by Cannabis!
In Ontario, the sale and promotion of cannabis is regulated by the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS). The legalization of marijuana in 2018 led to an abundance of regulated brands and retailers across the province – a phenomenon which suddenly took cannabis out from the shadows of societal stigma and made it mainstream. Today, weed isn’t just for your stereotypical stoner. It’s a safe, government-approved plant that can be consumed recreationally or medically, by the average person – students, those in the workforce, parents, seniors or anyone over 18. The OCS has not only made cannabis accessible to all, it has also made huge strides when it comes to educating the end user on effects, safe use practices and child safety. We are glad to have paved the way for all brands under the OCS in ensuring the delivery of safe, high grade cannabis to all Ontarians, and we are thrilled to be working side by side with OCS regulated brands to ensure a strong future for cannabis in our province.
The evening was a lot of fun for both vendors and expo attendees! Everyone loved the chill atmosphere of The Boardroom, and were thrilled for the opportunity to enjoy some cannabis at a weed-focused event. Due to the intimate nature of the space, event attendees were able to chat at length with each vendor, learning more about their products and special offerings.
No stoner experience is complete without some munchies, and this Winter Expo featured two vendors to meet those needs for our guests! High Society Supper Club was on hand with their irresistible “Walking Tacos” and Mac and Cheese, which sold out fast. Upstairs, McLardy’s had guests rushing to scoop up their unbelievably massive cookies – made even more special by the generous amount of chocolate, peanut butter and other fillings inside them. Avid readers could also snag a copy of a very creative story about a death at a cannabis facility, written by fellow weed-lover Steve Stacey!
We at CAFE and The Boardroom are humbled to have hosted HeadyDab’s Winter Expo! This super fun event brought together cannabis vendors and enthusiasts in a welcoming space, and facilitated new introductions, education and budding connections. We are advocates of open conversations in the cannabis space, and believe that together, we can continue to break down barriers and make advancements in everything related to cannabis.
