With the beautiful summer weather upon us, our staff at CAFE decided it was time for a seasonal cleanup! We spent two of June’s sweltering Saturdays out and about in the community, making the streets look immaculate! Our CAFE staff are highly dedicated to ensuring that the places we call home – Corso Italia, Bloor West, Harbord Village, Broadview & Danforth, and CityPlace – are clean and tidy for all patrons and community members to enjoy! Last month, we focused our efforts on the Harbord and Broadview areas of Toronto.
Here at CAFE, we are passionate about giving back to our community. This is why several times a year, our staff and volunteers get together and conduct regular cleanup events in the neighbourhoods our dispensary stores are located in. We welcome community volunteers to help in our efforts as well, but if none make it out, our team of staff are more than happy to continue with the work themselves.
On Saturday, June 15, the team from 104 Harbord set off along the main street, cleaning up litter and refuse from in front of neighbouring business fronts on Harbord Ave. They then tackled some of the side streets and alley ways. As our staff cleaned, local residents and passers-by stopped them to thank them for all the hard work from our staff! We are humbled that our efforts are well appreciated by others in our community.
A couple of weeks later in early July, our Broadview team decided to get to work in the neighbourhood. The staff were excited and in high spirits for the day’s cleanup event. They began on Broadview and then worked to clean up side streets. Despite the large amounts of litter in certain areas, the team was determined to make the area look pristine.
We are so grateful for our inspiring, hard working staff and all their efforts during these cleanups. Thank you to all who were involved in making our communities cleaner and safer for all!
