This past weekend was a wildly busy one for CAFE! Given that it was 420 week, we naturally took the opportunity to celebrate and have as much fun with our fans and community as possible. CAFE hosted an extravagant cannabis-infused brunch and dinner on Saturday in the heart of downtown Toronto, featuring celebrity chefs who also happen to be big fans of our favourite flower. Following the dinner event, we packed up and headed to The Comedy Bar on Bloor St W, across from our 932 Bloor dispensary location, to end the night with some hysterically funny stand-up comedy from Toronto’s best talent.
CAFE and Smokes & Jokes partner up to present a night of stand-up comedy every month at Toronto’s Comedy Bar. What began as a fun venture back in November 2021 has turned into an eagerly anticipated, fully sold out night of fun and laughs that our guests look forward to each month. We are so thrilled to be able to combine our love for cannabis with comedy that packs a similarly strong punch, and to host these shows that bring humour and delight to so many members of our community. We are also honoured to work with so many excellent comedians and performers, and we appreciate their hard work, talents and effort at our shows.
Our April 23 show was a late one, and guests began to file into the venue about half an hour prior. By 11pm, a sizeable crowd was gathered in the lobby and around the bar, patiently waiting to make their way into the room and find their seat. Within the first few minutes, every seat was taken and the night officially declared sold out. Zabrina Douglas took to the stage first, and had the crowd giggling very quickly. Her set was hilarious, and she stepped off the stage to roaring applause. Indeed, the applause continued throughout the night for Braydon Lynch, Cameron Phoenix, Anjelica Scannura, Danish Anwar and our headliner – Paul Thompson. Thompson actually performed at our SENSES dinner event earlier in the evening as well – read all about that event here! We are thrilled to say the night was a success, and each comedian absolutely killed their set. We can’t wait for the next show!
This night of comedy was hosted by CAFE, and our premium brand of pre-packed flower – Smokes & Jokes. Guests were able to show their tickets at our CAFE dispensary location across the street, at 932 Bloor St West the following day and receive 20% off any Smokes & Jokes product. What an awesome way to end the weekend!
